Hello! We are local ladies who set up a little venture in 2020 to try and help the environment by selling donated clothing and giving the profits to local charities and community projects.

We also help other agencies in supporting families who may need clothing items.

Please consider us for your unwanted, undamaged adults or kids clothing, shoes and bags (just these items please, no bric-a-brac 😊

Drop off points are in Bromley Cross, Egerton, Bury and Prestwich or we can arrange local collection.

Please check out our social media or contact us for information.

Please help us to continue raising money for local charities, supporting communities and helping the environment.

A little bit about Saving Threads CIC (Community Interest Company)...

🍃 Saving Threads CIC was set up in 2020 during the national lockdown.

🍃 It is run by two mums who work full time as key workers, whilst raising young children and also raising money for local charities and community projects.

🍃 We sell preloved clothing on eBay, Vinted and at pop up shops and donate the profits to charity whilst also supporting local charities with clothing for people in need.

🍃 Our ethos is to reduce fashion waste, champion preloved clothing and promote sustainability.

🍃 So far we have donated to: Ronald Macdonald House; Fort Alice; MHIST; Bolton Hospice; Bury Hospice; Baby Basics Bolton and Bury;  Endeavour; Back Up North West; HeadStart and many more causes and local charities totalling over £30K for these charities.

BABY BASICS BOLTON AND BURY

So in April and beginning of May we have raised an amazing £1540 for baby basics!

  • We are going to be doing a lot of behind the scenes work these next couple of weeks, collecting donations, getting organised and building up donations for next few months which is why we have chosen to wait till June to announce the next charity (and the fact we want some help picking a charity)

  • This is a hobby we do alongside our own full time jobs so hopefully these next few week can help us get organised for more donations and help us continue to raise lots for local charities.

  • We have also been luckily enough to be able to help out family’s/individuals who required clothing items and we want to continue to help out like this too where we can

  • So not just raising money for local charities but also giving clothing donations to those in need

  • Please please continue to support, we appreciate immensely the support we have so far, we are still accepting donations, please get in touch if able to donate and we can give donation points/ arrange collecting if unable to drop off

  • Thank you all again lots of love from Leander & Rachel @saving threads

THREADS OBJECTIVE

In July 2022, we launched The Threads Objective project, working with local schools and community groups to educate young people about sustainability, fashion waste and how to repurpose preloved clothing.
At Smithills School in Bolton, we worked with two groups of superb KS3/4 students to create some incredible items out of clothing and material that would otherwise have ended up in landfill.
The students were inspiringly creative, worked diligently and produced some incredible items that the top designers would be proud of. Hopefully these students will go on to change the world, one t-shirt at a time.
If any local school or community groups would like more information about our Threads Objective project then please get in touch.
♻️ Will be differentiated to suit students♻️ All resources provided♻️ Assembly material available
